僕のWalti

​Hiro used to say his favorite cat was Hime. Then it was Mieszky. 

Then has been Walter for about a year now. 

He says 

“Hime is Bean chain’s cat” 

And who is Mieszky ? Well probably mine. 

“Mieszky is Mama’s cat” 

And “Walti is my cat. “ he says. 

Yes Walter most certainly is.

Walter Knows (NOSE) !!!!

Walter has a super pointy nose which must work superpowers due to its pointy-ness. I accidentally left the fridge open and he is halfway in there trying to get go the ham.

Mieszky had to have medication twice a day so I would put it into food. I'd do it quietly so Walter don't catch on. But somehow he' d know!
Well, it doesn't help that Mieszky starts getting excited and starts saying "meooo, meooo!" So Walter would end up getting treats too.

But it's ok, Walter is an Angel. He is full of spirit and he makes us laugh.

Why Don’t You Try Kneading?

Walter has turned into a sweet caring cat.

He comes too if Hiro is crying to sit next to him when he’s crying. 

He’ll come sit and then he would start kneading and purring.

He worries about my kids crying and he says 

“It’s ok, little one ... Kneading always make everything ok. “

So he will sit next to them and start kneading.
Yes, it is a good advice, Walter the Wise.

Walter loves Hime and Hime looks after him.

....well, most of the time, when she's in a good mood.
She will sniff and lick his head. She's the only one who'd do that to Walter.

I had a special date with Walter , he came to sit with me ... mainly to knead on my cardigan and I took it off him so now the blanket...

He looked a bit bugged when I stroked his head. So I scratched his chin and he moved his head away ! “You’re killing my Kneading Buzz, Mom!!!" 

But isn’t he just so cuuute! 

Zumzum's Possé

Even when it's a tantrum over "I don't want to put on that cardigan",

It still worries (some) of the gang.

There is a THUD from the cat tree, and Walter wakes up from his snooze spot and comes to console Zum.
"Prrrrhhh, prrrhhh, are you ok, Zumzum?"

New addition...Thor.
He doesn't do much but he comes to sit near Zum when she is crying.

Of course there is a "Rrrraughhh! " and Hime is very concerned. 

I tell Hime, "it's ok, Zum just doesn't want to put on the cardigan, she's not hurt." 

But Hime gives Zum huggies on Zum's tear streaked cheeks.
 Hime's cheeks are wet from that but she wants to make Zum feel better.

My ways are quiet but I DO care too!

The other day, Zum was crying in the other room.  

Thor came to where I was sitting, and stretched his paw onto my lap to tap me, and get my attention. I've never seen him do that. He wanted to tell me that she is crying.

"Now I can enjoy my plantpot dish in peace."

He is quiet and subtle, but he cares too.  

It's good when everyone is happy... if someone is sad we all try to make them better....
Even if you are a cat.

Well Thor, the times you pounced on him to fight or to play, he doesn't want you around!

Thor has been making advances to try to extend the olive branch with Walter, he tries to rub his cheeks on him and sniff him when I am stroking Walter .., it's adorable but when you've been the Bully for a while it's hard to turn that around.

Thor is like that little kid that has no friends because he doesn't know how to make friends, he is mean to other kids... but really, he wants to be friends. Well, good thing he's got Mieszk who has no bad bone in his body, and likes and plays with everyone. 

Calm Warm Day

When its nice and warm, the best thing to do is to lie down and enjoy the peace!

No Strings Attached

Before Walter-Dudey became this nice, middle-aged mellow cat,
He was rarely super nice. If he was, it usually involved , food, food,food.
But there was this one other occasion.
When he spotted you outside of the house.
He'd come running to us and be "purr-purr-purr-ing" and rubbing himself against our feet and on Zumzum's pushchair.
Something about cats seeing their humans outside makes them No-strings-attached nice, even the not so usually friendly ones.
Why is that!?

Now that Walter is eight years old, I find him more mellow, and nicer, and even more affectionate. He's actually happy to be stroked most of he time, instead of sighing at me and running off with his tail bouncing in the air from annoyance.
Middle age must be not so bad then.

Appreciation

Walter was lost for three days. 

I knew that Walter who loves his food and warm fuzzy blanket to knead on, he wasn't the venturing type.

I knew he wanted to come home but somehow couldn't. 

We went looking for him, asked our neighbors, looked in trees, no Walter.

I was so worried he was stuck somewhere and what if he starved if we couldn't find him in time?

We have five cats and a child. You may think one cat missing out of five it's not a big deal. But Walter was gone, and it was like there was a big hole in our lives. The kitchen was quiet. There was a piece of chicken left on the floor and no one came with his pointy nose to snatch it up. 

The house seemed quiet. I missed Walter so much. He is so unique that I wouldn't find another cat like him. 

I couldn't concentrate on anything else. I made flyers and Shane put them up. We could only pray that someone finds him in their garden, or shed and contact us.
That night, I looked out the patio door and THERE HE WAS!!!!!!

He rushed in, and he gobbled up 3 packs of wet food. And while he was eating, he kept on jumping up to rub his head on my hand (we call it Walter Hi Five)  so many times that food was coming out of his mouth. He was so hungry and so happy to see us. 

He looked skinny. His coat was little bit dirty but not manky. He went upstairs and slept. 

I went to stroke him and he actually purred the whole time. 

He really did want to come home. And now he was home he was tolerating bit of stroking and fussing more than usual!

Hime went to lick him. Mieszky jumped on him and got growled. 

I told Zumzum that Kuroi Pazzy (Black Pazzy) is back. 

I realized we were the ones who didn't appreciate him, not Walter.
He came back and I'm so happy. Our lives are complete again.

Who'd Guessed -- Walter Dudey!

We thought Walter didn't care about anybody. Well,  just when you have food he would come "Prrr,Prrr-ing ", like "hey, I'm so cute and I'm your best friend" ...yeah, always ulterior motive.

BUT Recently...
I noticed that Walter also comes to Zum when she's crying, like Hime.
He comes and sits next to her. He doesn't like to see her sad.

He doesn't have the worried look like Hime gets when Zumzum is crying, but he casually wants to be there for her, with his owl like eyes and fangy teeth sticking out...
How very sweet of you, Walter!

Maybe it's a black cat thing? And they say black cats are unwanted at cat shelters because people think they bring bad luck. Proves that people who are prejudiced know nothing.
The black cats I had the pleasure of knowing over the course of my cat-blessed life, have so much character!
Walter is definitely one of a kind, couldn't breed a cat like him even if you wanted to!

Even Walterman!

"At first I was scared of Zumzum when she first came to the house. My eyes got so big and round like an owl when I first saw her, I've never seen a baby before!!

Then I got used to her but not her crying , I had to leave the room when she cried!
Man , that girl can really howl the place down!
You know I'm a man who loves his peace an' quiet more than anything! Well, food is first , of course, then my peace an' quiet.

These days I'm even getting used to her crying it doesn't bother me so much anymore. For a human , Zumzum is pretty cute! And she doesn't weaken me by showering me with kisses.
I actually like her. I come sit next to her in the morning because I'm sociable in the morning.
Hmmm in my Hierarchy, I think Zum is up there at the top with Hime. To be respected and intrigued! Yes , Ma'am!


She loves me because I'm fluffy and cute, every time she sees me she squeals and laughs !"

Out with Walter Man

 O  Walter, we just always forget how handsome you really are because of your anteater like ways...! 

He's so friendly when he is outside, he actually leans in when I scratch his chin, instead of the usual "uhhhh" I get inside the house.
Hangs out with his human sister a lot now that we are outside with the English summer. 

In the Wrong Business

I seriously think this person, if he were to become a basketball player, or even a businessman, he would be so successful.

 Walter's brothers are here for the chicken too, but they DON'T STAND A CHANCE!!!!!

So that's it. Whether he likes it or not,we gave him a bath.

He was actually a very good boy in the bath!!!
We thought he'd be kicking and scratching... But he didn't scratch once!

He got to eat his reward wet food afterwards,
drenched and dripping, in the bathroom.
Who'd guessed that Mr. Greedy-Guts was this scrawny??

What's up with the box

Our cats are notorious for being more chuffed with the cardboard box that the cat house came in, than the actual cat house that we bought.
We buy things for the gang, and it's like, "OH! I could've just saved a lot of money and just gave them the cardboard box!"

Uh, Hime, Is that really comfortable? .... The box that my sewing box came in...

Well, it turns out,this fabric-y box is Great too!

Of course, it was free. 

Just like all the best things in life!!

"The box gets Hime's SEAT OF THE WEEK Vote!"

"I am usually Old-fashioned but I like how the material sucks up my hair"
