Growing up.. Hime.

We've seen changes in our cats as they approach 7-8 years.
It seems that they calm down a bit and they are more affectionate.
Hime, she's always been a great cat, but she now has time to sit and cuddle with us.
She loves coming to sleep with me and Zumzum , she'd sit on the moon pillow and purr.
Or if we're watching TV she'd want to sit on my lap.
When she was younger, she used to sit on my lap but not for very long and she'd be too busy inventing new sleeping spots to settle with us.
I got worried that she was not well or something, but she seems fine in herself. Also Paz and Walter became more affectionate, cuddly too around the same time. So it must be maturing.
She of course still has the creative sleeping spots that she invents, but also has time to spend with us! Awesome!

I look at myself in the mirror and maturing is not fun for me . But for our kitties it seems to make them nicer and happier. So it must be not a bad thing.

Of course, if you are a super lovey loyal, loving cat like Mieszky , he ALWAYS wants to sit on my lap, ALWAYS loving, then .....
you're THE SAME!
Haha.

No Strings Attached

h
Before Walter-Dudey became this nice, middle-aged mellow cat,
He was rarely super nice. If he was, it usually involved , food, food, food.
But there was this one other occasion.
When he spotted you outside of the house.
He'd come running to us and be "purr-purr-purr-ing" and rubbing himself against our feet and on Zumzum's pushchair.
Something about cats seeing their humans outside makes them No-strings-attached nice, even the not so usually friendly ones.
Why is that!?

Now that Walter is eight years old, I find him more mellow, and nicer, and even more affectionate. He's actually happy to be stroked most of he time, instead of sighing at me and running off with his tail bouncing in the air from annoyance.
Middle age must be not so bad then.

STA-Chan!

For her 2nd birthday, Zumzum picked out a white kitty stuffed animal.
I named her "Skachan " after my oldest first girl cat who lives in Japan with my mom.
Zumzum cuddled her and said "Aaah... Pazzy ....!!!! " Because she couldn't pronounce "Skachan ", but eventually she got it and says "Sta-chan".

She gives skachan Huggies and says "Stachan...Meeeow!"

&

"shippo batabata" = tap tap with the tail
(learned that from Hime)

Zum loves her, and brings her to bed. She wasn't interested in stuffed animals much until about couple of weeks before her 2nd birthday.
Now she cuddles and plays with them, finds comfort holding them.
She is growing up!!!

I eventually got Zumzum back up Skachans just in case.

This morning,
Zumzum held both of them and said "Frieeends!"

Zumzum's Second Word

It was amazing when Zumzum started saying words.
She first started saying "Ba!", which is "Peek-a-boo" in Japanese, she learned that word from her fist favorite book. Then, around January 2015 she started saying "Pa-zzy!"
"Pa-zzy" pointed to of course our big ginger flufball, Pazzy , but she still uses it to mean "cats" in general.
Who'd thought, Pazzy would have been her second word!?
