Split personality ①

Walter is a complex character.
Unlike my first impression of him when I met cats protection (oooooh he is so friendly and cuddly !!! ) he has grown up to be schizophrenic, even.
He is very independent, and protective of his private space.

"If I was an only cat I'd probably get fed more instead of having to share and steal food!"

"I Ain't Sitting In Your Germ Infested Lap!" 

If you try to put him on your lap, forget it!

If you stroke him too long, he'd give you "SNifff!"

and walk off , shaking off the invisible germs you put on his coat.


Of course he hates being brushed, he'd rather be crusty and stinky like the CRUSTY DREADLOCKED PUNK CAT that he is.

At first when we discovered this stubborn trait, we mistook it as Walter turning into a mean cat.
But, as time went by, we realized, he is a cat that does not take any BULL, (well he does, but he makes a point that he don't like it!) ....
and we started finding his stubbornness ...

 SOOOOO CUuuuTE!!!

He thinks he is so tough but look how fluffy and cuddly he is!!! He only a BABY trying to be tough! Awwww!

When he is sleeping I love to fluff his fuzzy head and kiss him!
I gotta get my daily dose of "SNiiiff!"  from him! 

 He is enjoying his peace and quiet , but his big sister
("Higher-In-The-Cat-Hierarchy-Hime) 
came and started making a racket on his favorite Alone-Time cat tree...


If it was Mieszky or us Humans he'd either do
"SNiiiff!"
or
"PReeow!"
and
  a whack,


but with Hime, he just sits there and bears it!  AWWWWWW.....
You can see the annoyed look in his green cross-eye!
Cannot go against the Hierarchy!

OOOOOOH , Poor Walter.
I'm gonna have to go give him another kiss now!
 
Oh, Shane already beat me to it!!!

Always There For You .... Mieszk!

I just noticed that I have been taking someone's love for granted.

Mieszko.

He is regularly overlooked when taking pictures, because

a) He is not cross-eyed (Walter)

b) He is not always doing quirky weird things (Hime)

c) He is not, "not the sharpest tool in the box" (Alsan)


Mieszky has a quiet,undemanding character. He isn't pushy,or loud, but he looks hurt when he is neglected. ... Doesn't that just break your heart??

He loves being with everybody.

Hime , the Busy-boss of everyone,
usually whacks everyone when she feels bored,
but she won't mind if he comes to sit next to her when she is sitting on my lap.
She will even lick him and he will be there, so happy to be groomed! Awwwww.

With Pazzy, it was a different story.
He didn't like Mieszky for the first 6 months....
It was like, "I'm the ONLY Stripey Cat in this House!!"
Or maybe Mieszky was bit too gay and soft for Pazzy's Neanderthal Ways??
He used to always hiss at Mieszky if he got too close.
Pazzy was never mean to anybody else before... not even to Walter who was always Hyena-ing his food whenever there was a chance!
My friend says Pazzy is jealous because Mieszky's good looks is threatening to Paz.
But , as time went on, he accepted Mieszky , and will let him sleep close to him as long as Mieszky doesn't touch him.
("I don't do that gay stuff, man, keep your distance!")

Now Walter, he is something of an Nihilist...
doesn't care about anything or anybody, (except for foo0000d) but sometimes he doesn't mind sleeping with Mieszky .

But when he feels like it, Walter shows him "boundaries".

In Walter's mind, there is a"Cat Hierarchy" that looks like this:

Hime
Aslan
Walter
Mieszky

(looks a bit like a band tour shirt!)

Therefore Walter thinks he has the right to whack him, or muscle his way into Mieszky's food if he wants to!
Technically, Mieszky is older than Walter..... So maybe the "Cat Hierarchy" is based on who came first, or who has the strongest personality??

... Mieszky don't care where he is in the Hierarchy. He's happy being at the bottom!

He is always sitting next to me,
or on me,
it's so subtle that I don't even notice that he is sitting on my lap anymore!

And when I speak to him, he looks at me with very human eyes, trying to understand what I am saying.

Sure enough, he understands more words (in both English and Japanese) than all the other cats !! He is the first to respond to the all the important phrases, like, "Who wants Treats???"

If I ask him,
"Should I get up?"
he grunts and replies,
"Rrrrrpipppp!"

Mieszky loves his momma!

He is the most royal and smartest cat I have ever had, who said Pedigree cats were stupid??
I don't think being Pedigree makes any difference in animals , Mieszky understands me because... ♥ ♥ HE CARES !　♥♥

He puts his head on your hand when you stroke him!!
Not a bad bone in his body!
He's always there for you!

Our Puffin Muffin is 4!

Puffin Muffin, otherwise known as Aslan, turned 4 years old yesterday!

I just realized that on the day and was totally lame and forgot to buy him a present ... ( ￣っ￣)

Ever since he has been kind of on his special urinary diet consisting of some special buiscuits that is £30 for a bag,
he just wants to eat that and not even bothered about wet food!!!

I dunno WHAT they put in this posh urinary food, MSG? 24 Karat gold ??

Everyone else loves this special food too, and they have tried to gobble it up every chance they get.
Sometimes I will give him wet food and he actually turned his nose at it! (course Walter came and gobbled up any unwanted food, kinda like relationship between a lion and hyena)

So we were out of special buiscuits, no special posh wet food , only generic wet food , I gave him something else he loves....

Cat mind altering drugs -- Catnip powder from Japan !

As soon as I put the catnip near his nose

where he was sleeping, he jerked up and went to top where of cat tree, rolling and rubbing his head like a possessed cat.

Walter the Hyena came sniffing around. Then Mieszky.

They , too, started rolling like crazy. It was like watching a Group Hypnosis!

Then Hime came too and sniffed the catnip which sent her rolling too!

Got the BD party Rollin!

Rolling rolling so much that couple of them fell off the cat tree!

Aslan, after a vigorous birthday celebration went in his hammock, in a content daze.

One satisfied customer!

I remember the day he came into our family, he was 6 months old, a beautiful ginger boy with a twinkle of mischief in his eyes.

He had a round kitten face. Brave and wanted to explore the outside.

Aslan and Hime fast became friends, like PEAS AN' CARROTS!

Has it been 3 1/2 years since then?! Wow.

No wonder he's looking fat and old man -lookin'!

The last 4 months , he has been roaming outside in the cold weather.

He's been putting on loads of weight, more than ever,

probably because he actually needs the fat to keep him warm like a down jacket... Made from lard.

Hahaha!

At least he's got a legit excuse!

All he wants to just recharge his battery when he's at home .

He looks senile when he is resting!

Keepin' it REAL while everyone else
is thrashing around him...

I love him just as much as when he used to be slender and handsome, his belly is so white and soft and plush, you want to just stuff it in your mouth like a giant marshmallow!

Here's to our stud-muffin, Aslan !

May this year be filled with more adventures in the outside and nice warm snoozes!

There are certain things in life that is consistent !

Every time I'm eating chocolate
Walter comes and sits next to me waiting...

I told him, "it's not for you, you don't eat chocolate."

And let him sniff the chocolate.

Chocolate is one thing he doesn't eat. (surprisingly)

But he is still there, there is something else he wants!!!

Wait for it.....

G O ! ! ! ! !

Playing wrapper soccer !!!

I had 3 Ferrero Rocher chocolates one after the other,

EVERY SINGLE TIME

he came for the wrapper!!!! Hahahahahaヾ(●＾▽＾●)ﾉ♪

These are the times I am reminded that

He is only a little kitten inside....

under all that greedy fluffy fur!

Don't you think he looks like Mr. Jinxy,

Robert DeNiro's cat from "Meet the Parents"????

Look!

I wish he could use the people bathroom like Mr. Jinxy too.

Walter is very talented, but caring what humans want him to do is not on his priority.

None at all.

He is totally PUNK like that!!!!

Same round eyes! Semi- crossed eyed too like Walter!

It takes men longer ...

Women love shopping.

That's because we love new things, things that are new, anything different is interesting!

I like shopping and so does my mom,and our Princess of Mischief too.

New things must stimulate some part in our female brain

that we just get high!!!

First one on my new bag!

Men (in my house) don't like new things.

They'd rather have things that they know work,
have worked for them in the past,

never mind new things!!!

Our Hime Pumpkin loves anything new!

If something new comes into the house,
she'd be the first one to notice it, stick her paws in it,
 sit in it.

That's the one thing that sets her apart from everyone else:

The rest of the guys = men , will not try anything new out straightaway.

"if it ain't broke, why fix it?" is their policy.

This is the famous Radiator bed, which Hime and Aslan used to love back at the old house.

Since we moved house, Aslan completely ignored it, only Hime went in the bed Once every six months.....

Then , out of the blue....

Big ginger football Aslan resting on it!

It's pretty nice isn't, it, especially because Aslan has been putting the Winter Weight on!!!

His chubby tummy doesn't have to squash for him to sit in it!

...........Re-discovered after 3 years.

Mieszko, would never go on the radiator bed too,

but he goes in it for the first time EVER, inspired after seeing Aslan going in it!!!!

Hime's like,

"What is up with these guys? I've known about this spot for AGES!!!!"

This is our fluffy cushion we got from Ikea,

we call it The Walter Cushion

because the fluffy fur on the cushion feels like Walter.

Only person who loved it straightaway and started kneading on it was Hime.

Mieszky is on a roll of rediscovering ....

Miszky gets on it for the first time , sleeps on it every day now.

We've had the Walter Cushion for two years!!!

That boy's been missing out!

Look how happy he is! Awwwwwwwww.

Goes to show,

" Don't knock it till you've tried it!!! "

A lesson for all of us.

Be curious, creative, try something new. Like Hime!
