Is Frankie Happy? 2

So it was time to go home from the Vets.

Frankie,
being actually very intelligent,
knew she was going back to our house.

She did not MEW, MEW or even worse, start panting on the way back.

She got out of the cage in the car, and dug into the bottom of the front seat,
and kind of made herself comfortable.
Zumzum did not have to sit next to her and comfort her like on the way to the vets!

When we got to our house, I thought she'd jump out of the car and run off outside.
But she didn't.
I opened the door, and she waited patiently by the front door!

Smart Girl! (when she wants to be)

She went inside,
and she was happy at home.

She was back in her (our) back garden, chilling, once again.
It turns out, she really was happy with us, and our home , especially outside in the garden.

Even though she growls and hisses at us and everybody!!

And I learnt that she was a Maine Coon indeed, but ,
a small one!
(according to Erica Sensei)

Well, Erica Sensei also did say that Maine Coons are usually laid back...
well, maybe we have a very weird one then....

but we love Frankie for all her Crabbiness and her Noisyness,
she is funny, smart, and LOVING, (occasionally!!!) so we would really appreciate it!!!

Is Frankie Happy?

Frankie had to get her checkup.

We were very scared to take her to the Vets because last time she was in the car,
she started panting, and had her mouth and toungue out from stress.

She got very scared , maybe traumatized from when she was being moved from her old home and into her temporary home and then Cats Protection, and then to ours.

So I picked a day when Zum can come with us so she could comfort Frankie.

It was hard to even get her in the cat cage!
She started getting suspicious when we were gathered around her to try to catch her.
She was hissing and growling. She usually lets Hiro pick her up when she won't let anybody else pick her up, so I asked Hiro.
She Air-Swiped Hiro!
So it was plan B and lure her in with Churu!
She gets in the cage!!

The problem was when she was in the car.

She started crying sadly and panting.
She normally hisses and growls at us, but she was not even doing that because she was distressed.
Zum started crying she felt bad for Frankie.
I told Frankie,
"You are not going far away, and you can get back to our house soon."

We got to the vets and opened the cat cage. She rushed out to the examination table , and then looked surprised, not too stressed!
The Feliway that was plugged in next to the table must really worked on her, because she stopped, looked startled, and she was like,

"OOOOh what is this nice smell??"

The vet, Erica Sensei said, "Those create same pheromones like a mother cat does, so it calmes the cats down."
Wow!!! Who'd think that it would work on a Stress-prone, easily-annoyed loud Maine Coon like Frankie!!!

She actually looked a bit calm and started venturing around the examination room.
She didn't even growl when Erika Sensei picked her up,

(normally a guranteed "Brooowwwwwwllll Hisss !!!")

and she didn't even flinch when she got her injection!!

I asked Erica Sensei if Frankie was healthy. She said Frankie's coat is nice and she is in a good shape.
I was worried about her history of skin rashes she was getting before she came to us.

"So she is happy , do you think? She hates the other cats and she growls and Baoooowwws at us a lot!" I told Erica Sensi.
"Yes she looks happy! " Erika Sensei said .
I was so glad ! I always wondered if she was happy with us, because she growls at us a lot!!!

But then the lady at Cats Protection who looked after
Frankie said that it was the way Frankie talked!
That made sense! Some humans are crabby and like to complain and show their annoyance more than others!!

Big Baby Thinks In the Car

T is used to being taken to places. He would be going to Uncle Danny's when we are away so he wouldn't bother Paz. So when I took him and Walter to the vets, I was surprised he started whinning in the car. Walter wasn't happy he was going , espcially with his least favorite family member. Zum tried to give him treats but the Mighty Greedy Walter wouldn't eat! After the vet brought them back, I decided to put T on the lead so he coukd sit on the car seat. There was no room for two cat carriers. T walked around (while I was driving) , he walked on the dashboard and below thr seats. He sat on the floor of the car on top of my scarf. He then decided to sit on my lap (while I was driving, still) .... and stayed there. He is such a Big Baby!
He was relieved to get back. And yes, he's bit fatter than last year!
Round , Big Fluffy Baby!

Two is Better Than One!

Many people think two cats are double trouble.
It is!
More poos, more thrashing around the house, double chaos! Hahahaha!
More importantly,
1 cat+1 cat =TRIPLE THE FUN!

I think most cats are genuinely happier when they have a pal.
(of course it depends on the cat, but in most cases.)

Let me tell you why.

When Hime went to the vets, she was ok for the first visit.
Then the second time she went , the veternarian stuck a thermometor up her butt to take her temperature.

She started to shake. It really scared her.

Even after I brought her home, she wouldn`t stop shaking.

She went under the bed, defeated, would not come out for two days. She was shellshocked.
If taking a temperature made her weak, we were concerned about how she would be when she had to get spayed.

If just taking a temperature shocked her so much, will she survive from the shock of the surgery?
We prolonged her getting spayed as late as we could, but we had to have it done.

All the tomcats around the neighborhood were interested in her...

This picture on the left is not reflection of Hime,
it is a big black boy cat spraying at her through the window!!!!

Ewwwww... Wowwww...

We set a date right after Aslan came into the family.
After the dreaded surgery....

She was woozy from the anesthetics, went to a corner and slept.
Aslan looked confused. He couldn`t understand why his pal was weak.
We tried to keep Aslan away from her, so he wouldn`t try to play with her and open her wounds.

Next day, he was with her, licking her, sleeping with her.
Day after, they were playing, chasing eachother around the house,
even with Hime and her cone around her neck.

I remember when I was in the hospital. If I had been at the hospital all by myself, I think I would have gotten sicker, from loneliness and fear.My friends and my family coming to visit me all the time really helped me get better.

I think Aslan being there really helped her get over the shock, get her mind off the pain.
We were so grateful to Aslan for helping her.
Compainionship does help people and cats get better.

See? Back to her old cute princess-self, happy in her egg cup!
Even with the cone around her neck!
We were so, so relieved!
Thanks Aslan!
And thanks Hime, for being a brave girl!
