What is Hime Boss’ Verdict…?

Hime's eyes were round as round can be when she met Frankie. uh, not good!!! But Frankie , being a lady knows better (than some other Main Coon Cross named T) and she understands about respecting Hime already. So Frankie keeps her distance, doesn't growl or hiss at Hime (she growls at Mieszk, T, me , and Zum when shes not happy! ) and it is peaceful between the girls. Hime just probably thinks Frankie is another annoying T's cousin or something! I gotta give it to Frankie for understanding about respecting The Boss! Look at their size difference!

Welcome Frankie!

It took a while, but Finally Frankie was able to come to our house!

We made a Frankie Room and she slept in the cubby hole. She would purr and come sit with us.

Hiro says, "Frankie is a cat that plays. "

(None of the other cats play catch with Hiro
because they are over 10 years old and they are like,
"Oh we've seen that before a milliion times.. "

Frankie catches things with her big paw with the extra thumbs, it's like having her own baseball mitt!

OMGGG!!!

I'm so so surprised!! I wonder who approached first????
My girls finally became a family.

It took about two years since Cookie came to be comfortable with Hime, but she came around.
I'm so happy.

Walter's New Hierarchy

My friend Dennis who has 8 cats says in his cat's Hierarchy, all the girls are the strongest, then the boys, and his Norwegian Forest Cat comes last because he is so laid back. 

Turns out, Walter is the one who is deciding the Hierarchy in our house.

It used to be

HIME

ASLAN

WALTER

Mieszko

....therefore Walter can smack Mieszky if he feels crabby or wants to shove him out of the way.

Now,

what happens when a new cat, who is 

younger, much younger than him comes into the mix?

Cookie Dough is only two, where Walter is four years old, everyone else is pretty much about five.

Wouldn't it be natural for Cookie Dough to be at the bottom of the pyramid??

Well, 

Walterman has made his decision pretty much the day Cookie Dough came into the house,

he was very intrigued with her, and always had some kind of respect towards her.

I'm Intrigued by Cookie Dough!! 

so here's our cat Hierarchy according to Walter:

HIME

ASLAN

COOKIE DOUGH

WALTER

Mieszko

See, Walter respects Cookie Dough!!

maybe it is because she is a girl.

maybe because she is from the HOOD, an ex-street cat (she is not mean in any sort of way though).

But the new Hierarchy it is. 

Mieszky, being pushed to the fifth in line, he doesn't mind , as usual.

He loves everybody.

And what matters is that all the women in the house love him too! 

Sometimes the two girls can co-exist if Hime doesn't try to pounce on her!

I just wanna be friends...!

On introducing Walter (Previously known as Simon) to our Troble Two,
we have had better idea how to do this because of our experience with Aslan and Hime.

According to some websites it said it was good to keep the new cat in one room, let the other cats smell them, but not face to face, let the previous cat get used to the smell of the new cat.


Our princess Hime, she only accepted Aslan in her kingdom after 72 hours when he first came to our house. So I decided to keep him away from her, and only let her see him after 3 days.


During the 72 hours, she was being SUSPICIOUS HIME,
trying to get in the room where Walter was.
Everytime I opened the door to where Walter was, she'd try to get in , like,

"I know what you got there!!!! And I don't like it!!!!"

seeing his shadow in the glass and pouncing at him through the glass!

This is her face to face with Walter.

She looks cute, but growwwwwwwling at him!

Walter looks sad, he is only a kitten, just wanted to be friends.He had a big family, lived with his cat mom, cat dad, and 3 cat siblings.
At Cats protection he was in the pen with his brother, always playing.

He is really friendly and gentle,
I'd be laying on the couch and he would come sit on my shoulder , put his face against mine...


"Purrrrrrrr, Purrrrrr, Purrrrrr!"

How could anybody not like him??

Well, Hime.
Doesn't tolerate her kingdom invaded by strangers,
wether how cute or purrrry they are.


Of course Aslan wasn't too happy with Walter either, but he did not rule this house. Aslan's territory was outside. So he wasn't as angry (or suspicious) as Hime to have a new stranger in the house.

Walter tries to go make friends with Aslan too, but gets a growwwl again...


It didn't look too good for Walter, but I knew Hime would come to accept Walter.
After all, she did accept Aslan. And they are best pals now!
And if Hime acceped Walter, Aslan would too.


So I let him wander around the house, just as long as Hime got her space...

Hime was napping in the afternoon sun,
Walter comes in.
I was going to stop him before Hime gets angry...

And look!

☆　Monumental moment!　☆

Walter quietly lies down across from her.
She opened her eyes a bit, but didn't growl. Went back to nap.

It was like,
"Ok, I let you in the family now so I'm gonna go back to sleep."

I think things like eating, sleeping front of someone is important, as bonding. We go out to meals with people we like, or want to get to know. You wouldn't like to do any of those things if you didn't feel comfortable with the person.
Hime has accepted Walter, by letting him sleep close to her.

And the rest is history.

How "Intruder" became family

"GRRRRRRRRR! That`s my Living Room, fool!"

Hime didn`t like Aslan at all.
She followed him around, growling. Making sure he didn`t touch any of her stuff.
After all, she was the Princess of this household, worshipped , never had to share with anybody.

So when Hime refused him for 3 days, all the Hime worshippers (the humans in the house) was thinking,
"welll,,,,, maybe it is not working out, if our Princess is unhappy, he may have to go back"

But he is a bit fun to play hide-and-seek with.....

And he does have romantic eyes.....

One morning, I woke to find Hime sitting in the kitchen with Aslan, not growling.
It was if he had always lived with us.

We have been a family since.

The cat rescue people did say, it does take a couple of weeks for the first cat to take in the new cat. The new cat scent is different. But after a while, the new cat will start to smell the same, (in our case 4days) and they will start to accept each other.

So... I guess it means if you spend 4 days with anybody, cat or human, they become your family!!!
