Mieszky was the runt of the litter. He's small for a Norwegian Forest
cat, and his sister even chewed his tail when they were kittens. But he
seemed to suddenly bulk up to normal-ish size, he put on a kilo in a
year last year! Maybe he's coming into his prime and boyhood?Paz, on the other hand, has always been kind of big (fat) . As a handsome lean kitten, he had big lion-like paws, and around 1-2 years old he ballooned!
When you are a bully like Paz, it's hard to find a friend. The biggest criteria to being Paz 's friend is being laid back.
Paz used to hate Mieszky the first year Mieszky came. He used to go out of his way to hit him or hiss at him if he got close. But after 5(? )Years of Mieszky being part of our family, Mieszky is the Pazzy's best (only) friend.
Mieszky, it turns out, is laid back and brave. He doesn't care if Paz hits him , Mieszky thinks it's playing.
So what if he decides to hit you when you get close? You enjoy it as playful banter. If he pushes you out of the way when you are eating, you just sneak in when he is about finished. The big bully of the house now thinks you are his best friend ！
Now I see Mieszky and Paz sleeping together all the time.
And a very rare person came to join.....Cookie.
She is timid and pretty much stays away from Paz but if Mieszky is there to "Neutralize" , she will come sit with them. It's funny, cat dynamics.
