Annnd the Inevitable Three!!!

Since we were having so much fun with the Terror Two, also known as Hime and Aslan,
my husband said, "Why not throw another one in the mix?"
He still believes in : "if something`s good, MORE IS BETTER!"
And I said,
"Why not?! Two is same as three!"
( It is! 2 is Plural, 3 is Plural, samething, right?)

And recently, I started volunteering at Cats Protection.

I always wanted to work with animals. Especially cats. Cats have given me so much in my lifetime, I wanted to do something to give back.
So why not volunteer at the place that brought me Hime and Aslan?
And now I had an ulterior motive....
Scout us the Third to join the Terror Two!!!

I met so many cats at Cats Protection. There were so many great cats.
Cute ones, friendly ones, ones with great character... When you get to know each cat, they are all special. I don`t think there is a such thing as an unlovable cat. And don`t get me started on kittens...

Candidate 1: Smokey Joe.

Great cat with character. Weirdo, talks a lot. He`d be purring, then hisses for no reason. One of the volunteers said, "Cats only act as humans treat them."
Someone was probably mean to him, so he wants to be nice, but ends up scared, so he hisses.
But he has learned over couple of weeks that I love him , so he comes to rub his head on my boobs. No more hissing! It means more to me because I gained his trust.
I would totally loved to bring him home.... but I didn`t think he`d get along with Aslan or Hime.... which was a big problem.

Candidate 2: Darnell.
He is a black cat, comes to perch on your shoulder, just like Hime does.
He perched on my shoulder the whole time I was cleaning his pen!
Man, wouldn`t it be nice to have 2 Parrot cats?
Didn`t get to take picture of him, he got adopted straightaway.....
I`m happy he found a nice home though.
.....................

Then.....
FOUND THE PERFECT CAT!!!

He was named Simon.
Fluffy black cat,
friendly, klutzy, and cuuuute!
(why are all the cool cats black cats, by the way?!)
When I was looking for cats that grooming, I proprerly met Simon,
He is an irrisistable furball!

I noticed that when he was playing, he had a cute klutziness about him,
kind of quiet but playful. When he`d play with the ball, he`d be 3 seconds too slow.
I thought Hime would like him, being a quiet quirky cat herself.
And he wasn`t a Manly-man, so Aslan wouldn`t feel threatened.

Trying to take picture of him, he keeps coming up to my face, purring!!!
I`m in love ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

He was reserved by this family, and I was so disappointed!
I went to go say good-bye to him before I left for the day, I thought I would never see him again , going with his new family :(

But....... for some miraculous reason the people who reserved him didn't come to get him, and when I went to volunteer week after, he was still there!!!!

"What is he still doing here?! Can I pleeeeeeeease take him home?!"
I asked.
And the people at Cats Protection said, "Have him!!"

It`s like having a crush on somebody and you find out that that person likes you too!

Yessssss!!!!!

Two is Better Than One!

Many people think two cats are double trouble.
It is!
More poos, more thrashing around the house, double chaos! Hahahaha!
More importantly,
1 cat+1 cat =TRIPLE THE FUN!

I think most cats are genuinely happier when they have a pal.
(of course it depends on the cat, but in most cases.)

Let me tell you why.

When Hime went to the vets, she was ok for the first visit.
Then the second time she went , the veternarian stuck a thermometor up her butt to take her temperature.

She started to shake. It really scared her.

Even after I brought her home, she wouldn`t stop shaking.

She went under the bed, defeated, would not come out for two days. She was shellshocked.
If taking a temperature made her weak, we were concerned about how she would be when she had to get spayed.

If just taking a temperature shocked her so much, will she survive from the shock of the surgery?
We prolonged her getting spayed as late as we could, but we had to have it done.

All the tomcats around the neighborhood were interested in her...

This picture on the left is not reflection of Hime,
it is a big black boy cat spraying at her through the window!!!!

Ewwwww... Wowwww...

We set a date right after Aslan came into the family.
After the dreaded surgery....

She was woozy from the anesthetics, went to a corner and slept.
Aslan looked confused. He couldn`t understand why his pal was weak.
We tried to keep Aslan away from her, so he wouldn`t try to play with her and open her wounds.

Next day, he was with her, licking her, sleeping with her.
Day after, they were playing, chasing eachother around the house,
even with Hime and her cone around her neck.

I remember when I was in the hospital. If I had been at the hospital all by myself, I think I would have gotten sicker, from loneliness and fear.My friends and my family coming to visit me all the time really helped me get better.

I think Aslan being there really helped her get over the shock, get her mind off the pain.
We were so grateful to Aslan for helping her.
Compainionship does help people and cats get better.

See? Back to her old cute princess-self, happy in her egg cup!
Even with the cone around her neck!
We were so, so relieved!
Thanks Aslan!
And thanks Hime, for being a brave girl!
